ARM exhibits at REMSA 2006
Advanced Rail Management exhibited at the REMSA World Rail Expo in Louisville, Kentucky, September 17 – 19, 2006. ARM exhibited in the Osbourne Yard as well as the main exhibit hall.

ARM principles and staff were on hand to discuss wheel/rail interaction issues, tour the ORMV-2 (Optical Rail Measurement Vehicle) and preview ARM's new Track Geometry capabilities.

ARM presents paper at Cambridge conference
Advanced Rail Management President Gordon Bachinsky presented a paper on "Rail Grinding Practices on North American Transit Systems" at the 8th Annual Vehicle/Track Interaction conference held at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, UK.

"The paper provides insight on rail grinding practices on North American transit systems," Bachinsky said. "It is intended to give this international audience a broad overview from the practical perspective."

Mr. Bachinsky was selected to deliver this paper based on more than 30 years of experience in grinding and rail management work on transit and heavy-haul systems throughout the United States and Canada.

ARM's MBTA work featured in article

Advanced Rail Management implemented a specialized high-angle, gauge-face rail grinding program to eliminate abnormal wear patterns on the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Green Line. An article appearing in
Interface Journal on "Specialized Rail Profile Grinding on MBTA" features details of the MBTA's innovative corrective grinding plan and the rail profile grinding program ARM designed to improve wheel/rail interaction on the system.

ARM Awarded SCRRA Turnkey Rail Management contract

SCRRA has awarded an innovative multi-year contract for turnkey rail maintenance and grinding services to Advanced Rail Management. The three-year contract, with a two-year option, is for comprehensive rail management services, which include optical rail measurement for profile rail grinding and analysis of rail wear and defect rates. Grinding work will be performed using Loram Maintenance of Way, Inc.'s state-of-the-art L Series rail grinder under contract to ARM.

New on-line industry journal introduced
July 30, 2004 marked the premiere issue of
Interface, the Journal of Wheel/Rail Interaction. This new, electronically delivered journal is devoted to examining the issues associated with wheel/rail interaction and ways in which technology is being used to resolve them on railroads and transit systems around the world. "We'll provide theoretical information, but our primary focus will be on practical application of the tools, technology, products and services that are used to manage wheel/rail, vehicle/track interaction," noted Bob Tuzik, publisher of the new journal.
